Tuesday's Green Tip

Happy Tuesday. Today is a bit different. Instead of posting my Green tip I will post the tip of the contest winner.

Drum Roll please.....the winner is michellep and here is what she had to say.

"Ahhh, a subject for this time of year....flies. I just hate the ones that get in the house. While a flyswatter is usually the way to go, there are always a few that wander in that you can't get no matter what you do. I used to buy costly sprays, loaded with chemicals to kill those critters. But then I started thinking about my family and my animals-and started using the non-toxic fly strips, usually made with honey and sticky tape, the fly stops to eat, and gets stuck. end of story!"

CONGRATULATIONS !!!

until next Tuesday ......keep it Green

I like your blog and Green tips..
Now what about black widows and ants..Hate is not strong enough word to describe my feelings for these pain in the ass vistors that frequent my home on a regular basis. Ants I would say aren't as bad..because they aren't potentially deadly, but what to do about those widows??Any advice..and I don't want to spray chemicals. Thanks!

You're so right! Those fly strips are nasty but get the job done. We had some sort of freak fly infestation in our basement two years ago, and my husband bought two of them and put them up, and it worked like a charm. (And when I mean freak infestation, I mean hundreds. We only could guess they came down the chimney.)
