Picture this... it's 4th of July BEAUTIFUL blue sky, not too hot not too cold, just perfect. Two families get together to celebrate the birthday of our fine nation. Between the two families there are 5 children the 2 oldest who are boys are 10 the youngest who is a boy is 5. Girl 9, girl 7. There are 2 dads and 2 moms enjoying yummy drinks and delicious food. Your typical 4th of July celebration in any medium size town in America.
Now picture this...the kids want to play on the computer! What! No way is that going to happen right? Well after a few drinks they broke us down, we said 1 hour. They all go inside the moms and dads are enjoying the afternoon and the sudden lack of chaos that was just around us! Nice.
More stuff to picture...10 minutes later kids screaming, kids crying. 5 year old comes out and is telling us a tall tale.
5 year old boy says "7 year old girl is drinking beer"
Mom of 7 year old girl "What? I don't think so"
5 year old boy "Yes she is, I saw her do it"
Mom of 7 year old girl "Well, you are wrong, I know for a fact she does not like beer"
5 year old boy "Well I do!!!"
Now picture this...2 moms and 2 dads laughing and laughing.
Me saying " I am so going to blog about this"
Yep if you have not guessed that 5 year old boy belongs to me and NO he has not had beer, he just likes to say stuff! Funny stuff!!!
Just the other day he came out of his room to declare that next birthday he will be 21! Think I should be concerned? I pray for this child daily! :)

Tuesday's Green Tip
Hi all!!! I missed last weeks Green tip because I was out of town and not blogging! The week before I talked about reusing your paper scraps to make new paper.
Now that you have made the paper now you need something to color with but all you have is a bunch of broken crayons! OH NO WHAT TO DO????
I have the answer! You can remake crayons! First you need a muffin pan a large one small one whatever you have. Then you need to peel of the paper from the crayons and break them into smaller pieces if you would like. here is where the fun comes in...You put the broken crayon pieces into the muffin tin. If you want to keep solid colors then use all the same color crayon or if you want rainbow crayons then mix up the colors!
After you put your bits of crayons into he muffin tin, you place the tin in a pre-heated oven. 200-250 is good. You will not need to keep them in there long. When all crayons are melted take from oven and cool then pop out your new crayons!
My boys loving do this!
Untill next week...keep it Green!!

Why I LOVE Montana
My cousin Alina got married and it was perfect timing as we just found out that Dzia Dzia who just celebrated his 87th birthday and 60 years of marriage is dying. It was so nice to be around that much family even though there was so much drama going on!
Certain family members have a way of making everything about them regardless of the situation! There were a few F bombs going off when I was telling someone about a certain someones selfish behavior. You should have seen me. Standing on the street in Billings waving my finger and every other word was F, I actually shocked myself! I try not to swear but it is a lot easier to do when your children are not around and when everyone else does! It is a BAD habit!
We went out for Alina's bachlorette party and that was a fun time! I met a street vendor selling Sheboygan Brats. In case you did not know I live in Sheboygan so that was interesting! But the most interesting thing that happened that night was to my cousin poor friend, cute girl, nice girl who now lives in Vegas. While some cute boy was buying us all drinks in hopes that one of us was single, none of us are. Anyway some nasty looking chick came up and said to her "Did you sleep with my boyfriend in Vegas?"
All the cousins minus little bro
It's a launch party!!!

I am back but not well
Hi all my loyal readers, all what 4 of you? Have you missed me? I was out in big sky country, Montana visiting family and my dying grandfather. My beautiful cousin got married and it was a blast. All of my family from all over were there and it was so nice to see everyone.
It was so hard leaving knowing that I will never see my grandfather again. I love him so much and it SUCKED. I don't think I have cried that hard in my life. He was just diagnosed with stage 4 lymphoma and being 87 there is not much they can do for him. I hope he does not suffer and he goes quickly. I am going to miss him so much I can't even put it into words. I worry about my grandmother, how she will be with out him. They lost their most of their family in WWII and for 60 years all they've had was each other and soon he will be gone. I saw the fear in her eyes and it killed me to see this strong woman so full of fear.
He sleeps allot and she gets mad. I asked her why and her response was I know he does not have much time so I want to spend all the time I can with him.
So now I am home and not well, not because of my grandfather being sick but because I am sick with some sort of parasite called Giardia and if you have not had it or herd of it, IT. IS. NASTY. AND. I. FEEL. LIKE. HELL!!!!

Tuesday's Green Tip
It is Tuesday and that means it it time for my Tuesday Green tip.
Picture this..your children are doing an art project. They are cutting up paper and gluing their shapes onto paper. The project is too cute but now you are left with all those little scraps of paper. Do you throw them away? NO!!! Here is what you can do with the scraps.
Put the paper in a blender with some water and turn it on. Be careful not to make it too watery and don't blend it too much.
Next take the pulp mixture and pour it into a framed screen. If you do not have a framed screen make one. It is so simple. Make a frame out of wood and staple a screen around it.
OK so you have poured the mixture, best to do it over a sink for obvious reasons. Tap the screen to make sure you get out all the water you can. Place the screen on a towel and press out remaining water. I use a small rolling pin. Remove from towel and let the it dry and you have paper again!
It looks so cool!!!! You can use it for making homemade cards or gift tags or whatever you can think of.
Until next Tuesday..keep it GREEN!!!

Are you or aren't you?
Dear Brett,
What the hell is your problem? You "retire" and then a few months later rumor is you want to come back and play football? Nope sorry, you made your decision now stick with it boy! Please don't get me wrong I LOVE YOU, I do but it is time, you said so your self, remember? I do. I cried, I was heart broken. My oldest son cried, he loves you too, my hubby even had tears in his eyes.
We have watched you grow from a spunky awkward young man to a distinguished confident older man, and boy did you grow. You proved you had nothing to prove. But YOU RETIRED and now we have a new quarterback Aaron Rodgers, remember him? Yeah he is your REPLACEMENT, not your student any more. It is time to let go Brett, you will be missed by all but you need to stop playing these games, we cannot take it. Go take Deanna to Europe for a while, spend time with your girls. If you miss football that much come back to Green Bay as a coach, that sounds like it would be fun doesn't it?
Now for the you "might play for another team" talk, one in our league none the less. You a Bear, a Viking or even a Lion? Are you friggin kidding me? Oh no you don't! The thought makes me want to throw up, seriously it does. There will be none of that going on. I love watching you play football but to see you in anything other then a Packer uniform would be like knives in my heart and just might kill me.
Sincerely,
Susan

Tuesday's Green Tip
Oh my gosh it is Tuesday!!! How did that happen? Time for my green tip.....this week we will visit the laundry room.
Your popular name brand detergents contain phosphates and optical brighteners and some of the powder forms actually contain fiberglass, yes fiberglass. If you are itching and using powder guess what is making you itch?
I have tried several different brands and I like them all Charlie's Soap, Seventh Generation (stay away from the eucalyptus lavender, I thought my youngest got into the Vick's Vapor Rub!) and Method . If I had to choose I would recommend the Seventh Generation Free and Clear liquid.
Popular Fabric Softeners contain all kinds of chemicals and are considered the most dangerous chemical in our homes here is the list...
Benzyl acetate: Linked to pancreatic cancer
Benzyl Alcohol: Upper respiratory tract irritant
Ethanol: On the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Hazardous Waste list and can cause central nervous system disorders
Limonene: Known carcinogen A-Terpineol: Can cause respiratory problems, including fatal edema, and central nervous system damage
Ethyl Acetate: A narcotic on the EPA's Hazardous Waste list Camphor: Causes central nervous system disorders
Chloroform: Neurotoxic, anesthetic and carcinogenic
Linalool: A narcotic that causes central nervous system disorders
Pentane: A chemical known to be harmful if inhaled
And lets not forget animal tallow, aka animal fat.
Fear not there are alternatives. I use the Method Fabric Softer and find that it is not much more expensive the name brand ones, I buy it from Target. I have tried the Seventh Generation Fabric Softener but I can not find it locally.
Now for the bleach, I don't think I need to tell you how bad it is for us and the environment. I have been using Seventh Generation Free and Clear Chlorine Free bleach. This can be expensive but I have found that Target has their own brand and it is much cheaper.
Alot to take in I know but when I switched to natural laundry products I noticed that I was not itchy all the time and my children who have weird skin issues had not more weird skin issues!
Until next Tuesday..keep it Green

So Sorry honey...THIS WAS THE BEST CONCERT
I just got home from Summerfest and let me tell you.....IT WAS A BLAST!! I went with 3 of my gal pals to see my once friend "Stacey"'s favorite singer ever, Pat Monahan from Train.
OH MY GOSH!!! HE IS AWESOME. We got there an hour before the concert to claim or 2nd row center seats. There were no tickets and we just walk our cute little butts up there and sat or I should say stand.
He is great live, sounds like he does on his CD's.
In past post I wrote about how my friend "Stacey" is in love with Pat and how she got back stage. She is so cute, she was dancing screaming "Pat I Love you" I was cracking up!
We did not get back stage however....I did meet him! Cool huh?? We waited for 30 minutes after the concert because this is what you do when you want to get back stage or meet the band. This was all Greek to me so I went with the flow.
When he came out I got all star stuck, all school girl and giddy. So glad I was not drunk, then for sure I would have made an ass out of myself.
We did not have a camera, well we did but it was my friends and the flippin batteries died. Go figure right.
I did get a picture of Pat and myself on my cell phone and when I figure out how to get it to my computer I will post it. Translate that to I got a new phone and I have to figure it out.

I am related to someone famous!!!
Yep I have a famous relative, 2 in fact! I don't talk about them much, I do not want to seem like I am bragging or name dropping. My beautiful cousin married a famous man and now they are famous together. Some of you I am sure have never heard of them and that is OK. The ones that have when they find out FREAK out because they love them! They are not movie stars or TV stars, they are rock stars!
Bet you are wondering who they are huh? Let me go on a bit...
I have very fond memories of going to Rhode Island to visit my Aunt and Uncle. They were/are such a neat family and they welcomed me and my brother with open arms.(they are my step fathers relatives but he adopted me so I guess he is not my step father but my father)
We would eat YUMMY Filipino food as my uncle was from the Philippines. He passed away a few years ago and my AWESOME Aunt carries on his medical mission work with H.O.P.E. Foundation international. Click here to read more about it and feel free to donate if you are able, it is a great cause.
Their daughter is the famous one. I remember trading clothes with her, she is a few years older and I thought she was the coolest, in fact I still do.
By now you are dying to know who they are aren't you??? I could be a smart ass and make this a 2 or 3 part blog to keep you on your toes but I am not that mean, or am I?? No I am not.
Well my cousin is Linda Mallari. Who you ask? She is one half the band The Martinis. Her hubby is....Joey Santiago! Who you ask again? He is in the Pixies! Some of you are like who? If you are then that is OK. They had great success in Europe.
A few years ago the Pixies played at Summer Fest and we got AWESOME seats and back stage passes, it was so much fun!! At the concert there was this guy from Italy who was BEGGING me to get him back stage because he LOVES the Pixies and came all they way from Italy to see them! I had to tell him no, I am a bitch I know. He was very bummed but...I am sure he got over it!
Below is a home video of the Martinis performing at a benefit for a friend. The quality is not the best but yep that is my cousin!
They put out one CD as The Martinis called Smitten and I LOVE it, I listen to it all the time.

Tuesday's Green Tip
Happy Tuesday. Today is a bit different. Instead of posting my Green tip I will post the tip of the contest winner.
Drum Roll please.....the winner is michellep and here is what she had to say.
"Ahhh, a subject for this time of year....flies. I just hate the ones that get in the house. While a flyswatter is usually the way to go, there are always a few that wander in that you can't get no matter what you do. I used to buy costly sprays, loaded with chemicals to kill those critters. But then I started thinking about my family and my animals-and started using the non-toxic fly strips, usually made with honey and sticky tape, the fly stops to eat, and gets stuck. end of story!"
CONGRATULATIONS !!!
until next Tuesday ......keep it Green
