Dear Connie
I totally appreciate that you work at Wal-Mart and must make a living. What I do not appreciate is when you throw out perfectly good plastic grocery bags! Oh yeah I did see you! What you don't recall? Let me fill it in for you.
Last week I was standing in your check out line with my cloth reusable bags in hand when I saw you grab a big old stack of plastic grocery bags and place them on your little spinning thing. What you did next made me want to jump over the person in front of me and lunge at you!! But instead NO went screaming through my head! After you adjusted the bags you tried to open the first one with no luck, actually you really did not even try! (Were your freakishly long yellow and pink striped nails getting in the way?) You just pulled it off and threw it away! Then to my complete horror you proceeded to do it AGAIN!! My god girl at least try to open the bag! Did you know that it will take 1,000 years for those bags to break down? The way I look at it the 2 cloth bags you reluctantly filled for me made no difference to the Earth that day, I should have just made you dig the two out of the garbage and use them for my goods!!! Yes I do take being Green seriously as you should to!
Thank you and have a sunny happy day
Susan

Sometimes memories are best kept as that
I was talking to T tonight about recycling garbage and being green. We talk about littering and why people do it. I recalled a PSA from the 70's about littering.
"Give a hoot, don't pollute" Yes! Woodsy the Owl. I went on to you tube and of course because EVERYTHING is on you tube I found it and played it for T.
His response was "What's wrong with the color?"
"Well, it's from when I was a kid so I guess it is from age"
"It's that old?" I so ignored that! Little stinker! After laughing at the "old " commerical I decide to look for some other TV commericals from my child hood. There were a ton! The best one was Chuck Wagon Dog food with the little covered wagon that goes racing by the dog the disappears into he cabinet.
So I get to thinking if there are commerical there must be some TV shows! And of course because it is you tube there was! My FAV show was "Land of the Lost" and there it was, the song! And a whole web site dedicated to my FAV show!!!
So I showed T and instead of the "WOW that is cool" I got the "Oh mom I am so sorry that was the best TV had to offer way back when" look of sympathy.
Yes I admit not as cool as it was when I was 6, special effects have comes A LONG way since Will and Holly and their Dad got caught up in an earth quake and went back in time.
Now when my kids complain that they are bored instead of telling them
"I walked a mile in the snow up hills both ways to school" I will now say"I had to watch TV with really bad special effects"
It will have the same effect!

Girls....
I am thankful for my boys, I love having boys. They are dirty, they smell and they make disgusting sounds. I always thought I wanted a girl. When I was pregnant with T I though for sure he was a girl. The ultra sound was inconclusive, the umbilical cord was in the way so I thought girl for sure. Well we all know how that turned out! When I was pregnant with S I felt so different that I thought for sure he was a girl, the ultrasound confirmed otherwise. So 2 boys it is and I love them to death!
So I always thought there was a reason why the good Lord blessed me with my bundles of testosterone, I think I figured it out.
I was talking to a relative the other day, we were exchanging stories about my children and her grand children who are around the same age as my boys. Her older grand daughter is starting to develop and it was time for a bra. Well little sister who is 6 sees the new bras and decides she needs a bra and just takes one from her sisters room! So what do you think she does with it? Of course she puts it on and goes about her business until big sis sees her and figures out what that bunched up mass under her shirt is!
Big sis FREAKS , I mean how gross she was wearing her "underwear" right? With A LOT of coxing from mom the beloved bra is given up.
Well...guess what, she took that damn bra again but oh this time armed with the knowledge as to what a bra is for she stuffs it and proceeds to go about her business. As if is normal for a 6 year old to have breasts.
Big sis SUPER FREAKS out this time and again after A LOT and I mean A LOT of coxing from mom the bra is surrendered AGAIN and all is well. Or is it?
The next day little sis finds that bra AGAIN but this time decides to put it on over her shirt and go swing on the swing set in the back yard. The not so private back yard. OH MY HECK! BIG SIS JUST ABOUT DIES OF EMBARRASSMENT!!! Wonder what the teens year have in store for their family? It will be interesting to see.
So you see the good Lord did not give me girls becasue of the drama! Thank you Lord for looking out for me.
PS My dear little L let them "hang" free while you can!

What??
I thought I heard this wrong but I guess not. The New Kids on the Block are planning a reunion tour. Aren't they in their 40's? This would not make them kids anymore.
