Green Review and Giveaway #2 -Eco-Me Natural Scrub Cleanser

GIVEAWAY IS OVER...THANKS TO ALL WHO ENTERED!

So sorry this is late...work has been getting busy and today was one of those days and on top of it my Mom was in town. I had a lot going on!

On with business....

SURPRISE a Green Cleaner! I told you I am obsessed! This time I was fortunate enough to be able to try a wonderful Scrub Cleanser from Eco-Me

This product is different from others I have tried, you mix it your self. It comes with everything you need. The container, baking soda, vinegar and essential oil all you add is a little water!

I was excited to use this on my bath tub. I thought it might be a good idea to mix it over the tub...we all remember the volcano's from science class in grade school? Baking soda and vinegar foam! This step needs to be done VERY SLOWLY! Of course at first it was not slow enough, so I was glad I had the foresight to mix it over the tub. Other then that mixing it was a breeze.

As for the cleaning...it did a great job and it smelled wonderful. It did not even leave a lot of white baking soda residue, which I do not like. This is another reason I tried it in my tub....what little that was left behind washed off in the next shower.

From their Web site:

At Eco-Me, we’re concerned about how toxins are affecting lives and the world around us. Because of this, we are committed to sharing the latest research with you. Read the eye-opening information below and make sure to head to our Household Safety section to learn more. Also, check back to find the latest information about our company and discover compelling research about topics that affect every one of us. After all, isn’t it time to change the way we clean our environment, homes and bodies?

DID YOU KNOW?
Any chemical is toxic if you ingest enough of it. The government has set benchmarks for toxicity and a product is generally considered not toxic if the lethal dose is greater than 5 grams per kilogram of body weight (2 ounces for a 25 lb child or 12 ounces for a 150 lb adult). Warning labels on containers refer only to toxic hazards from ingestion, but most products are absorbed through inhalation and skin absorption. Labels that have the following statements should be removed from your house as they pose a risk to your health: “Do not induce vomiting”–“Corrosive - rinse skin immediately”—“fatal if swallowed”–“Danger”–“Poison”

How do you clean your home? Remember that when you spray a chemical solution onto a surface a small percentage is left behind as well as emitted into the air. Use Eco-Me Home Kits to clean your home without any chemicals and still remove up t0 99% bacteria and germs!

Your skin is the largest organ of your body and acts like a giant sponge. When you take a bath, are you soaking in left over cleaners? Have you ever coughed or gagged after using a spray product, broken out in a rash for unknown reasons, have your eyes ever watered and become red and itchy upon entering a room after if was cleaned with chemical based products? Most people answer yes to these questions and find it shocking how many chemicals are stored and used daily in their homes. But, the good news is that you can choose complete natural cleaning products by choosing Eco-Me.

The nice people at Eco-Me have given me one element "kit" of their Natural Scrub Cleanser for one of my lucky readers

Here are the rules:

Green Review and Giveaway #1 -Better Life Cleaning Products

GIVEAWAY CLOSED!!! PLEASE CHECK OUT MY OTHER GIVEAWAYS AND THANK YOU TO ALL WHO ENTERED!!!

Hi and welcome...I had a very relaxing spring break and now I am ready to jump back into the daily grind! This week I will be having a full week of Green/Natural products reviews and giveaways. I am so excited for this so check back daily!

Now on to today's review....Better Life Green Cleaning Products.

You may have figured this out already but I am addicted to Green Cleaning products, all of them. I have been so lucky to have been able to try some fabulous products all wonderful and yet different. So of course I was excited when these great Green products arrived on my door step.

First a little from their web site::

PEOPLE
The Soylent Green reference aside, people are our most valuable resource. Why would anybody make a product that isn’t safe for us? Better Life blends highly specialized surfactants made from sugar, starch, and amino acids — all safe stuff. You’ll never see sulfates, ethoxylates, fragrances, dyes, or volatile organic compounds (VOCs) such as glycol ethers and alcohols in our products. VOCs vaporize, entering the air we breathe. They’re triggers for respiratory problems, nausea, headaches, and skin irritation, and contribute to many more ailments.

PLANET
We screen hundreds of ingredients, choosing only the ones that are both effective, and have the fastest, most complete biodegradability profiles. All of our products have rapid biodegradation profiles. Over 99% of the ingredients we use are natural or derived from natural, renewable resources, and the formulas have no aquatic or terrestrial toxicity (making for some very happy amphibians). We use no nonylphenol ethoxylates (NPEs) because it messes with the reproductive systems of marine life — and kids love fish and frogs.

PERFORMANCE
With all the harsh chemicals gone, you’d wonder how Better Life products perform. Our products are setting the standard for green cleaning products. That’s not just a claim; we can back it up. As for traditional solvent-based cleaners? Bring ’em on. Yup, even without solvents, silicones, VOCs, ethoxylates, petroleum–based ingredients, or harsh surfactants they really do work better. Better technologies. Better thinking. Better chemistry. Better solutions. That’s what Better Life’s about.

**A percentage of our profits go to non–profit organizations who share our vision and passion for monk–like cleanliness in our houses, lives and planet.

All of their products are GLUTEN FREE!!!!!

Here is what the generous folks at Better Life sent me to try:

Simply Floored....I was very excited to try this product as we have a lot of hard wood floors in our house and I have tried other Green floor products and have not been overly thrilled. They cleaned them but left them looking dull and a bit sticky/tacky. This was NOT the case with this product. I am in love with it! It did a fabulous job cleaning my floors and left them nice and streak free and not sticky/tacky at all, I will be ordering this from them on a regular basis for sure!

The next product had me just as excited as the Simply floored...Even the Kitchen Sink

I normally just use baking soda to scrub out my sink but we all know that it can leave that White "film" if not rinsed good enough. Well rinsing too long uses a lot of water! Not good! So when I tried this I was so excited that it not only made my stainless steal kitchen sink sparking clean it rinsed off fast and did not leave the white residue that Baking Soda does. It is very gentle but powerful, I loved it!

Next was....what-EVER!

A wonderful all purpose cleaner. I used this in my kitchen on the counters and my black appliances and in my bathroom it work great. And smelled wonderful, I tried the Clary Sage and Citrus scent.

Then I gave this to a friend to try as i do not have babies and they do....2am Miracle

My friends we very exited to try this and they have a new baby and we all know that as cute as they are they can be a bit stinky and messy! They said this was a great product and cleaned up their sweet little girls spit up with no problem and it even took the smell out. They love this product!!

All in all I have to say I was very impressed with their products. Now for the fun part the giveaway.....

The wonderful people at Better Life are giving one of my lucky readers 1 of everything I reviewed...YES!!! You read that Correctly one winner will receive:

Simply Floored
Even the Kitchen Sink
what-EVER !
2am Miracle

Green Review and Giveaway-geomio Bamboo Towelette

Hi and welcome....I am finally posting this! I usually post my Green giveaways on Tuesday but work has been CRAZY and I have been sick, not the best combination!

So on to the reason you stopped by my blog....

I was thrilled to be able to try this AWESOME product from geomio

What is it you ask? Well...it is a 100% bamboo disposable BIODEGRADABLE towelette! That little disk when combined with a little water turns into this....

An 11x30 towel that has oh so many uses! This towelette rocked! I used it for wiping down my kitchen counters and I used another one when I cleaned out my car. They can be used over and over until they fall apart. I have been using them for about a week now and I have yet to toss one. Of course they can also be used to wipe off you little persons dirty face, or dry it! I can even see using them with my face cleaner, they are that soft! There are endless uses for this wonderful earth friendly product!

From their web site:

We are justifiably proud of this compact towelette because it has so many uses! Weighing just 1/3 of an ounce when dry, it opens up to be a whopping 11" x 30" by adding just a little water. That's like getting 3 paper towels. Unlike paper towels, these are reusable and unbleached. The non-woven 100% bamboo fiber is really strong, so you can use it again and again. This sustainable towelette is undyed, unbleached with no alcohol or fragrances. It's a pure, natural material that will decompose after use, unlike most wipes. PACK OF 10 so you can keep one in your car, gym bag, purse, baby bag, etc.

Thanks to geomio I have 2 10 packs of this fabulous product to giveaway! There will be 2 winners!!!!!

Here are the rules:

Leave comment for each you do. Giveaway is open to USA and Canada only sorry my over seas friends! If you do not have a blog please please please leave an email so I can contact you if you win!!!

Random Thoughts

I think I am sick...No I know I am sick. I have a fever or 100.7 I feel a sinus infection coming on...CRAP. I have a SUPER DUPER busy day at work tomorrow...why am I sick? Why am I blogging when I should be sleeping?

Here are some random thoughts from a sick woman.....

Why does my 5 year old argue with me when I tell him "We absolutely DO NOT have Boy Scout Cookies?"

Why does my husband mess up the bathroom right after I cleaned it? Can't he see how shinny sparkling clean it is? Does he not see that there are NO OTHER ITEMS OF CLOTHING on the floor? Why does he leave his underwear 1 foot from the laundry shoot?

Why has winter been so damn long? It is finally warming up but I live in Wisconsin and do not trust it.

Why does my 11 year old insist on NOT wearing his belt to school when it is part of his uniform? Why does he not understand that I get upset when the teacher is sending home notes saying he is not in uniform?

Why do they have to wear belts as part of the uniform?

Why was Medium a repeat tonight?

and my last thought for the evening...

Why is AIG giving out OUR money to their employees as million dollar bonuses????

Tuesday's Green Tip - Review and Giveaway

CONTEST CLOSED WE HAVE OUR WINNERS. CLICK HERE FOR MY OTHER GREEN GIVEAWAY!!!!!!!

Hello and welcome to this week's Green Tip and giveaway. I am posting late today as the last few days have been crazy busy at work, which for me is AWESOME being a Real Estate agent. If you are here for the first time go ahead and look around you might just like what you see!

I am thinking of changing Tuesday's Green Tip to Green Tuesday. I am now doing green product reviews and giveaways and those are not really tips however I will not be doing giveaways every week forever, or will I??? I would love your input!

Now on to why you stopped by. Today I will be reviewing Simple Pure Clean products, an all natural, never tested on animals woman owned company!

From their web site:

All natural cleaning products, containing
the power of plant and vegetable based
ingredients with pure essential oils
added for their cleaning properties and
aromatherapy health benefits for you
and your family. We add PURE essential
oils for their effective cleaning
properties, not just for their scent.

Many common household cleaners
today can contain potentially dangerous
toxins that can lead to illness, fatigue,
and disease. Businesses, hospitals,
and schools are switching to our
environmentally safe, effective
cleaners to increase health among
family members, clients, and employees
while decreasing disposal costs of
traditional household toxins and
preserving our environment.

These arrived just in time to clean my husband's bathroom, YICK! OK, it is not that bad but he does not clean it as often as he should, I use it only if I have to. So this was a good test for these products.

He used the Bathroom Cleaner

He was impressed, it cleaned the sink and counter top with little effort and left it shinny clean! He then diluted some with a little water (in case it was sticky, he does that with all cleaners) and attacked the floor. Left them nice and clean with no sticky residue. I tried some undiluted on the main bathroom floor and again it was not sticky at all.

He then used the Glass Cleaner

Again he was impressed left the mirrors clean and totally streak free.

That was the end of his testing of the products they sent me to review, now it was my turn! I also received their All Purpose Cleaner.

I used this on my kitchen counters and just like the other products it worked beautifully and left my counters nice and clean. I also used it to clean the inside of my refrigerator and just like the counters it left it sparking clean.

I also tried their Natural Air Freshener in Lavender

All I can say is that I LOVE this stuff and will be ordering some from them soon, I am almost out.

We both agreed that these products are great. Not only are they all natural, non toxic, biodegradable and earth, kid and pet friendly they are excellent cleaning products and we highly recommend them.

They have a full line of all natural products including natural baby products, personal care products, other cleaning products and of course the ones I reviewed.

Now for the giveaway.....There will be 2 winners! Each winner will receive 1 All Purpose Cleaner, 1 Glass Cleaner, 1 Bathroom Cleaner PLUS one winner will also receive a Citrus Air Natural Freshener and the other winner will receive a Peppermint Natural Air Freshener.

Now for the rules....PLEASE READ RULES CAREFULLY. There are 3 ways to enter. If you DO NOT have a blog please leave an email so I can contact you if you win. Quotable Sunday

Hi all and happy Sunday! It is time for Quotable Sunday....want to join? Just head on over to the ever popular Toni and play along. It is really that simple!
This week my quotes are about government. It does not matter who you voted for we all know that our government sometimes does not know what is right for us. I just want to make it clear that I am not picking sides ....today at least. Enjoy!

Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidise it. -- Ronald Reagan

The taxpayers are sending congressmen on expensive trips abroad. It might be worth it except they keep coming back! -- Will Rogers

Giving money and power to government is like giving whiskey and car keys to teenage boys. -- P. J. ORourke

Bush gave an interview and he said people will vote for him because 'They've seen me weep, they’ve seen me laugh, and they’ve seen me hug.' These are the same qualifications for a Tickle Me Elmo. -- Bill Maher

The single most exciting thing you encounter in government is competence, because it's so rare.
-- Daniel Patrick Moynihan (as quoted in NY Times, Mar 2, 1976)

If you can't convince them, confuse them.
-- Harry S. Truman
