On the fifth day of Christmas....Hugg-A-Planet review and giveaway

Welcome to day five of 12 days of Christmas my2boyz style.

When I was given the opportunity to review HUGG-A-PLANET from Peace Toys I was thrilled! Both of my boys are very much into maps. At my 12 year olds school conference his history teacher said "Tony is super freaky smart, especially when it comes to maps, I tell him to reference maps in class and he never needs to. At first I thought ya right, but he gets it right 99.9% of the time. I am very impressed" This child has been obsessed with maps since he new what a map was and what it was for. That curiosity has rubbed off on his little brother who has asked for a road atlas from Santa. Let me tell you when the Hugg-A-Planet's arrived there were squeals of delight from my 6 year old who said right away "A globe I can snuggle and sleep with, thank you for blogging this mommy you are the best" We were sent the Earth and Moon which is not only soft, cuddly and the cutest thing I have ever seen but it is an accurate globe!

The moon sticks on the earth with Velcro and can be tucked away inside earth! My 6 year old got a kick out of that!

We were also sent Hugg-a-Planet Mars

This also is an accurate globe of Mars, how cool is that? My 12 year old was amazed with this, he found a map he did not know, he has been studing it for a while now and i am sure it has it memorized!

Not only did the Hugg-A-Planet line win the "Best 25 of 25 years" award for Parents Choice Awards but the line is also recommended by The National Association of Gifted Children. The coolest thing is that the Hugg-A-Planet Earth, Hugg-A-Moon and Hugg-A-Planet Mars will circle the Earth for many years to come! They will make a full orbit around the Earth every 90 minutes on the Space Station and will stay there for as long as the space station remains active, at least till 2016, and will orbit the Earth 5860 times every year! My boys were in AWE when I told them that! NASA chose the Hugg-A-Planet globes as a space-based teaching tool because of their geographic accuracy and soft construction. They also can be tossed around like a ball or used as a pillow which is perfect for zero gravity!!!

I was very impressed with the softness of the Hugg-A-Planets, I had expected them to be firmer but LOVE that they are not! My 6 year old has been sleeping with the Earth, Moon and Mars every night! I have even found myself grabbing them and snuggling with one on the couch as I watch TV.

Some of the other other Hugg-A-Planets include Baby Hugg-A-Planet Earth, Hugg-A-Star and Hugg America. The Hugg-A-Earth also comes in a super size! Go check out their web and see what else they have to offer, you are going to want all of it!

  1. For The Toddler -- A two year old can start learning geography. It is amazing to watch, just by showing them a place on the Hugg-A-Planet, then asking them to find it again, and they. Great gift. Tahnks. magic5905@embarqmail.com

  2. For The Older Set -- high school and college, geography, political science and environmental awareness are important issues, here the Hugg-A-Planet, earth with over 600 places labeled still is useful not to replace a traditional globe but for general reference. It makes a great conversation piece and reading pillow for a dorm room. Thanks.
