On the fourth day of Christmas.......K'nex review

Welcome to day four of 12 days of Christmas my2boyz style

WE LOVE K'NEX in our house so when I was given the opportunity to review a set was I thrilled. We were sent the K'nex 400 Piece Value Tub and when it arrived it was greeted by two very anxious boys. If you are not familiar with K'nex then you need to get with the program! They are the next generation of construction sets. This set consisted of several sizes of rods, building blocks, wheels and 13 different types of connectors making the possibilities endless!

The boys very quickly opened the little bags that held all the pieces, flipped open the building idea book, decided on a project together (shocking I know) and went to work with the help of Dad who seemed just as excited as the boys were! I love great toys that the whole family can enjoy TOGETHER!! Here is the Rocket Ship they built making a landing on the runway that my 6 year old added to the project because we all know Rocket Ships need a place to land!

The set is geared for ages 7 and up but my 6 year old had no problem following the directions and manipulating the little pieces. There were 10 different building suggestions in the guide and instructions on how to find more on the K'nex web site which is amazing. There are areas for parents and educators, a K'nex club, product guides and of course an online shop-K'nex Direct. K'nex gives back 10% of all sales on K'nex Direct to the Children's hospital of Philadelphia and there is free shipping on all orders over $100.

Here is an example of what else can be built with K'nex

This a replica of the Ferris Wheel at Navy Pier in Chicago, it is in one of the gift shops, trust me when I say this pictures DOES not do it justice, it was quite impressive and was actually spinning!

All K'nex are made in the USA in Hatfield, PA! I LOVE things that are made in the USA!!
Wonder how the idea of K'nex came about?? It began when founder and now Chairman Joel Glickman was playing with straws. He was at a wedding and started messing around with some straws and thinking about the possibilities, obviously a little bored? :)

K'nex would be the perfect gift for any age child on your list as they also have building sets geared towards toddlers that have a Sesame Street Theme and sets for the child who is 5+. If you are looking for a toy that will provide hours of entertainment then K'nex is for you!
See you tomorrow for day five of my 12 Days of Christmas!

K'nex provided me with the product to review through my affiliation with Team Mom. The opinions stated are mine and just that my opinion.
